TREK REVISITED

I know it has been a year . . . but I wanted to post more pictures from Trek. It was this time, last year, we were pushing and pulling our little hearts out, for three days!
I wanted to add more unseen images, and with the new blogger uploader -- it is SO MUCH EASIER!! I can post TONS of pictures! Yee-HA!

Reenacting what our Mormon Pioneer ancestors went through was truly one of the most spiritual experiences of my life. I loved it, and I hope to have the chance to be a part of it again, someday in the future. It was incredibly challenging but so fantastically worth it. Next time (in three years), Sammi and Daniel both get to go push and pull handcarts.  That will be so awesome!
Have I mentioned that I LOVE being Mormon?
I do, I REALLY do!
We may be a "peculiar people" but we are not so bad . . . if you get to know us.  Sometimes we can even be pretty awesome. :-)
In the next little while there will be a lot of "Mormon Moments" in the media. Sometimes they will be fair, and sometimes they might miss the mark (by a LOT). If you want to know accurate information about the Church use www.mormon.org or www.lds.org for more information. Don't believe all the trash that is in the news . . . go to the source. Or, better yet . . . ask a real live Mormon! :-) I am always happy to answer any questions, if they are sincere.

For now, just some (a TON!) of Trek images . . . get ready for image overload! They are not in chronological order -- that would take forever! But a picture is worth a thousand words, so you'll get the idea!

Getting ready to load the buses

 Reading letters from home
 Pondering the meaning of life

This was probably the hottest point in the day -- over 100 degrees

 Kissing the baby goodbye . . .
The family baby had to die . . . it was a sad moment.

 That was rough!
Lucky Lexi had "internal injuries" as her trial . . . she got to ride in the cart.
Barefoot . . . many of the Mormon pioneers were without shoes.

They had amazing music performed by some of the youth
 The girls -- LOVED THEM!
 The Boys -- LOVED THEM!

We made people crazy trying to figure it out. :-)

Heave!
Man the handcarts were HEAVY! A lot heavier than I expected.

 Brrrr!!
Only a few girls were dropped by boys trying to carry them. :-)

BLISTERS . . . OUCH!

There were some really young girls there . . . some had to be carried, they were blistered so badly.

 YEE-HA!

If you ever have a chance to do a Pioneer Trek . . . DO IT! We were promised we would be blessed for our efforts as Ma and Pa, and we certainly have been. I cannot wait for my kids to have this experience!
Our Trek family chose the motto:
FIND COURAGE TO CONTINUE
That motto has carried me through this crazy last year . . . !!!
I keep TREK in my back-pocket, always!
Just keep pushing!
