I think this change will be super. But I also know it will be challenging, especially for those who have had a major disruption in their Church life. The ward we were in for a year -- the ward that is becoming part of our ward -- was basically dissolved and farmed-out to other wards. I am certain that the families of that ward will be at least a little sad for the change -- some having lived there for a very long time. I know I would be sad if that were to have happened to us. It was unexpected, and change can be hard!
We attended the meeting last night, which covered all of the boundary change information. At the beginning of the meeting we sang the Hymn, "I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go." When the Hymn was announced by the Stake President, everyone laughed hysterically.
There was a lot of excitement and nervousness in the room -- so many changes for so many people.
I believe this is going to be amazing. I feel a renewed sense of energy about Church. I am always excited about the Gospel, but actually attending Church meetings just got a zap of energy in my opinion. I like change. I think change is a good thing. I think this change is a GREAT thing.
To those of you who are now part of our new ward family -- WELCOME! We love you, and we need you! I hope that the adjustment goes smoothly, and that you can find reason for joy in the transition. As for me, I am THRILLED to have more members of our ward family!
Welcome, welcome, WELCOME!!!!
Yippee!
i think it's going to be awesome as well! change IS a good thing, even though it can be hard. can't wait to hear how it all goes as everyone adjusts, so keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteIt is a much needed good change. Sunday will be interesting as we figure everything out with about 200 new families. WOW!!
ReplyDelete200 new families? 200 new ACTIVE people? Or 200 names on a list? It's all very different.
ReplyDeleteIt'll be interesting to see what happens when the dust settles and how much people this ACTUALLY means for our ward.
I'm super pumped for the youth.
I think this is so awesome for them.
They'll probably need a few more leaders now it's going to grow so much which I'm sure will be great for Trisha.
What a fantastic thing for them AND for primary. I'm nervous about my calling with probably double the size of children!! How am I going to do it?
It could all crash and burn at my feet.
What a wonderful thing for us to have NEW FAMILIES in our ward though. It'll be nice to meet new people and have more 'family' to see on Sundays.
Love it.
Melissa, Tyson gave me that number. I am guessing that includes everyone, active and inactive. Primary will be CHAOS this Sunday but we'll do our best right? Get ready to sing the hello song to a lot of kids! :)
