Snack Bucket

Because our kids can be little piggies, we decided to use a snack bucket this school year. In the past, our kids had been ripping through any snacks (and bread) we had, and by the end of the school week, they would have nasty, lame, lunches -- with undesirable snacks.

 NO MORE!

Now we buy the allotted amount of snacks for the school week (15 crackers, 15 sweet-treats, 15 string cheeses, 2 loaves of bread, etc.) and we put the non-perishable items in the snack bucket (the bread goes on top). This bucket (and bread) is not to be opened -- AT ALL -- except when making their own lunches before school. I must say, the snack bucket has been working beautifully! It works for William, too, who just grabs his snack right after he gets home from Kindergarten (which is nice for me, I don't have to come up with something, it is already ready!).

If the kids were to cheat and grab a treat from the bucket (which has not happened) then they get nothing good in their lunch!

It has been SUPER so far . . . I just wish I would have done it earlier!
